Activities

The southern Ardèche welcomes you through its many natural sites, Gorges de l’Ardèche, Pont d’arc, Défilés de Ruoms, Mont Gerbier des Joncs, Mont Mézenc, Massif du Tanargue, Bois de Païolive, cascade du Ray Pic, Grotte de la Cocalière, Aven d’Orgnac. You can find many pretty villages, Chapias, Labeaume Balazuc, Banne, Thine. You can visit the Museum Alphonse Daudet (Ardèche house traditions), Ma Magnanerie (on the tradition of silk), The Musée de la Châtaigneraie (on the tradition of the culture of chestnut), Vinimage (Museum of Discovery wine Ardèche). Numerous activities are offered each summer: fêtes votives (village fairs), dances, markets, night markets, fireworks, and music festival at Labeaume.

There is swimming and the descent of the gorges of Ardeche in canoe-kayak. In a variety of landscapes (gorges, mountains, rivers…) you can also go fishing, cycling, horseback riding, caving, rock climbing or paragliding that will provide the most courageous of intense sensations. And all the season, come and discover our many footpaths.

Villages

4 km: Labeaume, picturesque town labelled “Village Character” near the river, with its beaches of sand and pebbles. 142 dolmens have been listed by the association Dolmen and Heritage on the town. This is the highest density in Europe. Circuit accompagné des dolmens www.asso-dolmens-ardeche.fr

5 km: Ruoms, old medieval village founded in the tenth century. You will find the medical home, all shops, banks, administrative services and the market Friday morning.

9 km: Joyeuse, medieval town located 180 meters above sea level. You can visit the Musée de la Châtaigneraie, a unique collection of tools and furniture related to the cultivation of chestnuts.
On Wednesday morning there is the market where you can find local specialties. Do not miss the grocery store Bourron Couchus to the Place de la Gare with its charcuterie, foie gras, poultry and eggs, snails, goat cheese, honey and bee products, fruits and vegetables, chestnuts and derivatives, jams, wine. 15 km: Vallon Pont D’Arc and the gorges of Ardeche classified natural reserve in 1980. The canyon stretches about 35 km to Sant Martin and can be visited on foot the hiking trails located at the bottom of the canyon or on the river by canoe, kayak or boat Office of Tourism.
